VizorNet’s management team is highly experienced in the leadership of information security and related technology companies. In addition, they have strong experience with government and business organizations that are critically dependent upon the protection of shared information within groups, on a real time basis.


Our leadership team includes:

Mark D. Gatanas – founder - VizorNet’s Chairman, President and CEO. Mark has served as founding investor in emerging growth companies in the digital infrastructure sector for several years and has played active roles on boards as director and vice chairman. He has over 14 years experience in information systems management (operations and sales) at EDS and CACI, successfully building and managing winning teams, and has closed contracts of close to $2B in value, as well as managing a $45 M, P&L organization of over 200 people. Previously, as a career US Army officer for over 26 years, he had the full range of command and staff, and diplomatic assignments, including serving, as Military Advisor/Assistant to President Reagan’s Representatives in the Middle East, in turn, Phil Habib, Bud McFarlane, and Don Rumsfeld.


Stephen W. Leibholz - co-founder - is Vice Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer. He previously founded and served as CEO of Analytics, Inc. At Analytics, Steve led the pioneering development of highly secure networks, and secure cryptographic equipment and systems. As a Special Employee of the US government’s intelligence community, he has received several commendations for his contributions; and led the preparation of the top-level plan (since implemented) for the reorganization and re-engineering of the Office of Naval Intelligence.

Author of 6 books, 10 patents and patents pending, and over 30 publications, Mr. Leibholz is cited in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and American Men and Women of Science.

Michael J. Maston is Vice President, Special Operations. Mr. Maston formerly headed the Oak Ridge National Security Program Office. A former Naval Aviator with experience in special operations, his specialties include technology for special operations, ordnance, counterterrorism and responsibility for field testing.

He previously served as program manager for the Oak Ridge Complex National Special Projects (SPO), to include Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Weapons of Mass destruction, Infrastructure Assurance and Counter Terrorism programs. Served as the Oak Ridge Special Technology Program (DOE/IN/STP) manager for research & development, prototyping and operational support to the Intelligence and Special Operations community.

Larry Schumann - Co-founder and Vice President for Marketing and Sales - was VizorNet’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Larry was former head of the White House Communications Agency, and the former President and CEO of the National Telecommunications Alliance, Inc. (NTA), a network support company which was owned by all of the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) including Verizon Communications, BellSouth, Qwest and SBC (Ameritech, Pacific Bell, Southwestern Bell and Southern New England Telephone). He was appointed by the President to serve on the White House National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), from 1996 to 2000.

 

George Meyers is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of VizorNet. Prior to that he was the CFO of Analytics, Inc. and was the Corporate Treasurer for Exide Battery Corporation. He has had extensive experience with Coopers and Lybrand as a CPA, with payroll and tax matters and is a serving Enrolled Agent of the IRS.

 

Fred Herman, Vice President for Engineering Services. Has over twenty years experience in information technology management, including project, program, and group manager, as well as, general manager with small and large companies.

 

Ronojoy Gupta is Vice President for System Development, author of one of our patents, bringing a strong knowledge of information-security software and software management to the team.

Carlos Recio Esq., co-founder, is VizorNet’s General Counsel. Carlos is Of Counsel to Davis & Campbell, L.L.C. He is also the General Counsel for SI International Inc, a public company.

VizorNet has a well-connected outside management team including two very experienced and highly recognized outside Directors to assist with its corporate governance:

 

The Honorable Emmett Paige, Jr. – was Vice President for Lockheed Martin Information Technology before his retirement from the company. During his Army career, he was promoted to Lieutenant General, with his last assignment as Commanding General (1984-88) of the US Army Information Systems Command, a world-wide organization headquartered at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. General Paige was confirmed by Congress and appointed by the President as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence in May 1993.

 

Rick Rosenburg – who is President of the defense and intelligence segment of the U.S. Federal Government Group within Unisys’ Global Public Sector. Prior to joining Unisys, he was Senior Vice President for enterprise solutions at Electronic Data Systems’ (EDS) Government Solutions organization, where he developed and shaped enterprise-wide opportunities within the U.S. Government (won and led the $7.6 B Navy - Marine Corps Intranet [NMCI] contract).

Ken Van Wyck is an expert in Information Security and has written on the subject. He was a Senior Executive in the Department of Defense and CIO of Defense Information Systems Agency.

 

Sorin Davidovici, PhD, is the Principal Scientist. Holder of 20 patents in communications, he has had a long career in communications. Inventor of a technology and DSP chip for digital communications, he is also expert at communications protocols and signal and image processing.

 

Nino Giordano was one of the US Army’s communications experts and leaders; was a Senior Executive in the Army and a Program Executive Officer. After retirement from the Army, he became the President and CEO of Golden Bridge Technologies.

George Sibley was a senior executive with EDS for over 37 years. He is one of the most experienced executives in information technology management, including project, program, and group manager. George headed all of EDS’s military business for over five years, and then was instrumental in expanding EDS’s business with the UK military.
